Celebrating 32 years of Arts Excellence
|
Westlake’s parent Arts Committee is dedicated to supporting the visual and performing arts at Westlake Elementary School. We are proud that Westlake Elementary School is the recipient of the California Department of Education's 2016 Exemplary Art Education Program Award.
The Arts Committee celebrates 32 years of collaboration between parents and faculty collaborating together to ensure a well-rounded program of arts is available to our students. Westlake Elementary arts education is supported by Parcel Tax P & J (for K-5 visual art, 3-5 music, and after school band program), and the PTA and Westlake Families support 3-5 dance, art materials, art assemblies, art coordinator, Family Arts Night, etc. Westlake Art Program is recognized by the California State Visual and Performing Arts Standards, as part of the comprehensive core curriculum. The Arts Committee strives to augment the district's arts program to include dance instruction as well. |
We are lucky to have our own faculty in Visual Art, Music, Dance/Movement. Read more about Westlake Art programs that are funded by the Westlake PTA and supported by the Art Committee
ParentsArt Parents along with the Art Committee enrich our children's artistic experience with supplemental programs and events. See the Art Committee Meeting Schedule below.
