Mission:

The PTA's mission is to positively impact the lives of all children and families. Westlake's PTA is a 100% volunteer-based nonprofit organization run by families, teachers and school staff committed to the well-being of all Westlake children.

PTA Goals of 2024-2025

Our programs focus on community building and inclusion while encouraging a greater involvement amongst all families.
Fundraise efficiently and purposefully to raise funds at the same level as the 2023-2024 school year.
Give families a place to feel heard, feel welcome, and included.
Properly share PTA responsibilities in a way that members are not overextended.
Create an open communication with teachers that fosters a positive working relationship.

How we raise funds

There will be one direct appeal campaign in October. Other main fundraisers are: Auction, Drive for School, Back to School BBQ, Passive Fundraisers, Bake Sales, Popsicles & Popcorn, and Walk-A-Thon.

How dollars are spent

Here are some of the programs we will fund in 2024-2025:
Community events | Movie Nights, Family Arts Night, Spooky Story Night, Family Math Night
Enrichment | Learning Assistants, Yard Duty, Teacher Supplies, Life Lab hours, Science Fair, Chess Club, Math Night
Arts | Art Site Coordinator, Assemblies, Music for K-2, Dance, Virtual Talent Show, Day of Dance, 5th Grade Mural, Art supplies

By becoming a member of the Westlake PTA, you become a member of the California PTA and are supporting its overall commitment to the well-being of all children. As parents and teachers, we do this by supporting students, staff, and the school community by promoting communication throughout the school, conducting fundraisers, and coordinating the community events that enrich all students’ learning experiences at Westlake.

ALL families are encouraged to join and participate in the PTA. Membership is $10 per member and meetings are held once a month during the school year. Through our meetings, parents find out how they can get involved in supporting Westlake through PTA events and activities. Everyone is encouraged to attend these meetings to learn about, and participate in, the PTA’s support efforts. If you can’t attend, meeting minutes are posted online and the PTA officers always welcome your comments and ideas.

Meetings - PTA Meetings will generally be the third Thursday of each month. Be sure to check out the calendar for the exact dates. Online Zoom Meetings begin at 6:30pm.
