Westlake’s PTA is a 100% volunteer-based organization run by parents and staff. The PTA coordinates and sponsors many community and fundraising activities to enhance the experience of our students and their families as they learn and grow at Westlake.
ALL families are encouraged to join and participate in the PTA. Membership is $10 per member and meetings are held once a month during the school year. Through our meetings, parents find out how they can get involved in supporting Westlake through PTA events and activities. Everyone is encouraged to attend these meetings to learn about, and participate in, the PTA’s support efforts. If you can’t attend, meeting minutes are posted online and the PTA officers always welcome your comments and ideas.
The PTA is organized and led by a group of board officers who are elected by the community each year – President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Arts Co-Chairs and Parliamentarian. Issues and topics are brought to monthly PTA meetings for discussion and decisions are made via votes by the membership at meetings. Committees serve to support a focused effort of the PTA.
Meetings - PTA Meetings will generally be the third Thursday of each month. Be sure to check out the calendar for the exact dates. Meetings start in the Library at 6:30pm.
PTA Support- PTA fundraising supports the following: music, arts instruction, teacher/classroom supplies, after school enrichment programs, performing arts assemblies, the school Life Lab, 5th grade science camp and graduation, library supplies, outdoor sports supplies, and so much more! We present key fundraising activities each year - the Back to School Fundraiser, our Annual Westlake Spring Gala & Auction in Support of the Arts & Enrichment Programs.
Community Activities - the PTA coordinates and supports a variety of community activities throughout the year, including Family Arts Night, Family Movie Night, Spooky Story Night and Popcorn and Popsicle Fridays. These events bring us all together for fun with friends new and old.
