Westlake Elementary School Parent Teacher Association
The mission of the Westlake Elementary School PTA is to give every child in our Westlake community the opportunity to thrive and succeed in life by offering extended enrichment programs that the funds from the federal, state and the Santa Cruz parcel tax just don't cover.
By becoming a member of the Westlake PTA you become a member of the California PTA and are supporting its overall commitment to the well-being of all children. As parents and teachers, we do this by supporting students, staff, and the school community by promoting communication throughout the school, conducting fundraisers, and coordinating the community events that enrich all students’ learning experiences at Westlake.
ALL families are encouraged to join and participate in the PTA. Membership is $10 per member and meetings are held once a month during the school year. Through our meetings, parents find out how they can get involved in supporting Westlake through PTA events and activities. Everyone is encouraged to attend these meetings to learn about, and participate in, the PTA’s support efforts. If you can’t attend, meeting minutes are posted online and the PTA officers always welcome your comments and ideas.
Meetings - PTA Meetings will generally be the third Thursday of each month. Be sure to check out the calendar for the exact dates. Meetings start in the Library at 6:30pm. Childcare is provided.
Some examples of what events we hold to financially support the enrichment programs, Teacher grants and additional staffing are: Back to School BBQ, Popsicle & Popcorn Fridays, Social, Winter Artisan Fair, Spring Art Auction, Science Fair, Science Enrichment.
